                            YOUTH 4 HUMAN WRITES PROGRAM

                             POR AMOR created “Youth 4 Human Writes” an annual community arts and education employment program for youth in the East Scarborough community in partnership with The Boys and Girls Club of East Scarborough in 2007. Youth 4 Human Writes focuses on human rights, community empowerment and alternative educational models. The project also provides a platform for young people to express their opinions regarding issues on human rights & community change through artistic platforms such poetry, music and mural arts.Youth 4 Human Writes seeks to educate, create and activate leadership capacity within the youth of our communities.



                            Program Goals
                            The goal of Youth 4 Human Writes is to create and facilitate opportunities for young people to be actively engaged and employed in social activism and community change through creative and expressive art forms, to create future leaders for the city and the world.

                            Primary Activities
                            • The creation and recording of a CD featuring the artistic talents of the youth in the project, promoting positive voices of young people.
                             
                            • The creation of a human rights mural depicting Universal Human Right number twenty-six “Everyone has the right to education” to promote the importance of education, arts based activism and community beautification.

                            • Organize and host a community event to promote positive accomplishments of young people and the need for unity and love in our neighbourhoods.
