WHAT WE DO

Building Movements Piece by Peace

Birth of the Movement:

PORAMOR was founded in 2003 by four young women as a volunteer initiative to provide free educational workshops for at risk youth in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic. PORAMOR fundraised all the resources required to facilitate our volunteer project in 2004.

Since the successful completion of our pilot project at Integracion Juvenil in 2004, PORAMOR continues to support community efforts for development in the Dominican Republic. PORAMOR has also begun local initiatives within our own community, Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Our innovative projects focus on health, the environment and all aspects of the arts. Part of our fundraising initiatives include live events, facilitating a collaboration of artistic talent within Toronto and abroad to raise awareness, build community and provide financial support to PORAMOR’s projects.

Our Focus:

International Projects
Provide financial and educational support with our innovative PORAMOR programs in art, music, health and the environment to youth based programs in the Dominican Republic and world wide, enabling them to become effective forces for change in their communities.

Local Initiatives
Conduct PORAMOR projects, workshops and presentations with community and school groups in Toronto and the surrounding areas to foster awareness, creativity, self-esteem, and leadership skills.

Events - “Party for a Purpose”
Promote the enhancement of positive art forms within the Toronto community, through live shows and events.
PORAMOR events showcase an array of musical and artistic expressions, while also providing financial support to our projects.
