We started this project FOR LOVE, and as POR
AMOR grows, we continue to use love as our motivation to move forward with our combined skills and talents.
Erin --Through POR
AMOR, Erin aspires to improve the health and wellness of youth, both locally and internationally. Erin believes in holistic health care and the inclusion of education, nutrition, and emotional awareness to improve disease prevention and overall wellbeing. Her love for children and cultural diversity is expressed through her aspirations and dedication to POR AMOR. A registered nurse and a graduate of McMaster University in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, she presently works in pediatric medicine and has successfully prepared and facilitated many POR AMOR healthcare initiatives.
Rachel --Through POR
AMOR Rachel aspires to offer inspirational creative workshops for youth, helping them to develop positive self-images and comfortable creative expressions. Rachel’s workshops are aimed at tapping into the deep healing effects that result from an individual’s unique creative expressions. A graduate from the University of Toronto, with an Honours Bachelor of Arts, she majored in English, with a double minor in Sociology and Philosophy. Aside from her work with POR AMOR she is a poetess, A.K.A. Raydiance, focusing on the form of ‘spoken word’.
Melissa (HBSc., M.Ed.) --Melissa Gimousis is a teacher focusing in the areas ofGeography and the Social Sciences. Her role within POR AMOR is towards the practice of maintaining an equilibrium with the earth and our inner and outer selves, through versatile projects/workshops surrounding environmental consciousness, knowledge of self, and artistic expressions. Melissa also supports POR AMOR through media design regarding program awareness and products.
Melissa a.k.a. Golidlok1(www.myspace.com/insight&goldie) is an active hip hop artist who uses her verbal abilities to communicate positive messages to our community.
Tanika (HBSc) --Through POR
AMOR Tanika aspires to re-educate youth and families regarding environmental issues that affect our communities across the globe. Tanika’s projects and workshops aim to rebuild the reciprocal relationship we have to Mother Earth. Tanika also encourages young people to believe in themselves and their goals through empowerment and social responsibility workshops. Tanika earned her Bachelors Degree from the University of Toronto in Environmental Science and International Development.

is also an active hip hop artist who uses music to reach out to our youth with a positive socially conscious message, as well as conducting creative workshops in music/media.
